What is Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis?

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that uses hypnosis as the basis of its foundation to achieve a state of tranquility or trance-like state which enhances attention. This allows a person more likely to accept suggestions to work through problems to achieve their goals.​​
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, if you ever caught yourself "daydreaming" or in some sort of focused attention, then you have experienced hypnosis. Only in this case, you have the therapist as your guide. ​​​

What does a Hypnotherapist Do?

The hypnotherapist is your guide through the each session. The therapist will gather all the information at the initial meeting from you, but plan with you. You can change it at any time, or go in a direction that resonates more with you. Nothing is locked in, only the results you desire. The approach is client-centered while using trauma-informed care.​
During your hypnosis session you are guided into deep tranquility or in trance, the therapist is able to make supportive recommendations and access underlying emotions or memories that may be holding you back. Here the therapist can reframe any negative thoughts, beliefs, patterns or blocks while using techniques or processes to achieve "what you want." Processes may include but not limited to Inner Child, and Parts Therapy. ​​

It is not mind control, or manipulation. It can be used on stage as a form of entertainment, but this is not what we do here. You can't be made to anything against your will and nobody will be while you are under hypnosis. It is not what you see on tv or in movies.
You will always be in control of your thoughts and actions during hypnosis.

Form of Sleep:
You will feel deeply relaxed, but you will be completely aware and conscious throughout your sessions.

Forget or Lose Time:
You should remember just about everything during the session.

Party Trick:
It can be used as form of entertainment, but not here. We take seriously that clinical hypnotherapy be used as a therapeutic tool to address your needs.

Only weak-minded people can be hypnotized:
Your ability to be hypnotized has nothing to do with weakness. It has all to do with willingness, and the ability to concentrate. As you are here for help, right?

It can help you recall memories, but remember it may not be accurate. It can lead to the creation of false memories. This is not the hypnotherapy itself, but how the mind works in general.
